Rates are subject to change without prior notice & will be updated on the web, according to the US dollar and Sri Lanka rupee conversion.

Collection of Parcels

Home Pickup available in Colombo 1 – 15 City Limit & Suburbs. Pickup will be done within 24 hrs during working days in Colombo 1-15 areas and within 2-3 working days in other areas. No payment is required at the time of parcel collection. The identification number given by us should be mentioned on the parcel. Delays may occur due to the prevailing situation in the country.

Sender will receive the parcel identification number through a SMS & Email.

If you need to handover quickly, you can go to a domestic parcel delivery company in your area and send it to us.

Conditions of accepting Documents & Parcels

Item list with the value of each item in USD should be Inserted into the box.

Avoid sending valuables such as money & passports.

Items should be personal use only.

Sending of medicines is strictly prohibited. We are not responsible for any inconvenience caused by sending medication.

We do not accept fragile items unless they are properly packed in original factory sealed cartons or containers with protective lining designed to courier such items domestically and internationally.

Items sent by you will be repackaged in a box provided by us. Payment should be made for the full weight of the entire package, including the weight of the box, and no extra charge for the box.

Only high quality packaged items with labels and expire dates will be accepted. Other items will be rejected by Custom.

We will not recalculate your items. The list of items sent by you will be forwarded to Customs.

Goods that you send for a business, resale, or in excess of the quantity that Destination Customs has restricted / prohibited from importing may be subject to customs levy or destruction of prohibited items.

You must check the country specific regulations with the Destination Customs authorities to obtain necessary preapprovals

Should not be exceeded the approved quantities.

The 10 days period from Sri Lanka to your destination may vary due to an air traffic error, an emergency customs detention, incorrect addresses or telephone numbers or the omission of notices from delivery companies.

We will not responsible for the deterioration of your foods and loss of valuables due that delays occurred from above reasons.

We do not ship the following items:  Alcoholic beverages , Animal skins (non-domesticated), Articles of exceptional value (e.g. works of art, antiques, precious stones, gold and silver) , Dangerous goods/hazardous materials, Firearms, Furs, Ivory and ivory products, Live animals, Money and negotiable items, Perishable goods, Plants, Pornographic materials, Seeds, Stamps of unusual value, Stand Alone Lithium Batteries, Tobacco and tobacco products, Unaccompanied baggage.

Certain countries have additional items that are either prohibited or have restrictions for shipment. It is the shipper’s responsibility to comply with current government regulations or laws applicable in each country. Shippers and Consignees are also advised to refer to each country’s Import Prohibited Articles list before handover the parcel.

We reserves the right to refuse or suspend transportation of any package which does not provide detailed contact information for shipper and receiver and of goods that, in our opinion, are not practicable for transportation or are not adequately described, classified or packed and labeled in a manner suitable for transportation and accompanied by necessary documentation.

We will not transport any goods that endanger the safety of our employees, agents and subcontractors or the means of transportation or, that in our opinion, soil, taint or otherwise damage other goods or equipment or that are economically or operationally impractical to transport.

Not all commodities can be shipped to all countries.

European Union Value-Added Tax (VAT) will be charged for your parcel from 1 July 2021 – We do not control or oversee governmental regulations, including the EU VAT reform rules and regulations. We have facilitated you to pay these duties online or at the parcel delivery.

With effect from the 1st March 2023, there will be an update to the European Union’s Import Control System (ICS2) for all goods entering the EU by air. EU customs authorities will collect certain customs data prior to departure and arrival for shipments entering the European Union.

please ensure you enter the following data when creating a shipment. This will help to ensure the smooth clearance processing of your shipment and avoid potential delays or penalties.

All additional payments including customs duties, inspection charges in addition to freight charges are payable by the recipient of the parcel.

We are only obligated to reimburse you the freight charges incurred in the event of an emergency before it reach your destination.

Retention, parts or complete destruction may occur after the parcel is inspected by Customs at the destination and all losses incurred therein shall be borne by you as the sender of the parcel.

When a parcel is rejected by the Customs, if you want to bring it back to Sri Lanka, you have to bear all the expenses and if not, they will destroy the parcel.

Therefore, if you want, you can insure the goods and get the loss in case of an emergency from the insurance company.

Insurance is available with an additional fee. With insurance, the value of the goods declared shall not in any event exceed USD 1,000 or its LKR equivalent per package.

An additional 2% of the declared value will be billed to the customer as Insurance charges with a minimum fee USD 10 in addition to the Freight cost. 

When declaring a value in excess of $50, the customer needs to provide the commercial invoice with correct values, proper bills and payment receipts for includes. If unable to provide, will continue the process with agency limitations. 

Damages of the shipments should be notified to your destination local delivery team within the day and should obtain a complain reference number and inform BC express team same day with the reference number.

Insurance company shall not be liable for any damages or losses due to inappropriate packing.

International Shipping For purposes hereof, an item shall be deemed to be in BCexpress’s Possession from the point BCexpress collects the item from Client until the item is passed to the appointed Service Provider, and a shipping tracking number is available.

In the event of loss or damage out of BCexpress’s Possession, BCexpress will facilitate the communication, using our best efforts, with the appointed Service Provider and transfer along to you any reimbursement received in accordance with the terms and conditions of the appointed Service Provider used. The Client agrees that they shall have no claim against BCexpress under such circumstances and will look to the Service Provider in respect of any claim arising out of the loss or damage to their Shipment.

Do not accept your parcel, If the seal is broken or package is damaged. Take a picture and return it with the same delivery person. If you accepted with the damages, we are unable to accept your complain and no claim will be granted.

Terms & Conditions may change time to time.

Online Payments are accepted from major Credit cards and additional 4.8% surcharge will be added.

When payments are made via bank deposit or ATMs, needs to share the payment slip and confirm.
